Vintage Veronica

No, these are not links to me wearing vintage lingerie.  Pervert.

Perhaps some of you who have only just started reading my blog haven't had the time (tsk! tsk!) to read all of it, so here are a few of my favorites from 2008.  Click and enjoy!

Miss
i love the Wonder Woman comic

SHe was created by Dr. William Moulton Marston
who lived in a polyamorous relationship with two women

He wrote many of the early episodes of Wonder Woman (in the early 40s) and one of the themes repeated over and over again was BONDAGE

THere is ALWAYS scenes in early Wonder Woman comics where she is tied up or she is tying up a criminal..

many think those early Wonder Woman comics are the first time bondage entered main stream culture.

Okay, I love a Ms. V retrospective. But when I saw this post title appear in my Dashboard Reading List I burned Bluetooth to connect, only to be chided for lusting after pictures of you in vintage lingerie.

Aren't girl gang members required to wear bullet bras and wasp-waisted cinchers for their switchblades?

I was crushed that the links weren't of you all retro'd up. You dominant tease you.

Hi Greg,

I loooove the aesthetics of that comic. It gives me tingly stirrings. The funny thing about it is that there is no artist credit given on the actual book, so there is no way to know who actually drew them. I assure you, if I did, I would Amazon his stuff like mad!

I was not aware that Wonder Woman held the illustrious title of being the first to bring bondage to the mainstream. Now I like her even more!

I am fascinated by Moulton now, too...

Miss yes Molton was a crazy character

he was interviewed for a Woman's magazine about comics (by his live in lover who posed as objective journalist )He said they were great at a time when the jury was still out on comic books

a Comic book company saw the interview and invited him to consult - it eventually lead to invitation to create a character

the artist for early wonder woman was H. G. Peter - Molton insisted he draw the comic against the wishes of the Publishers (who thought his art was too old fashion)

Quote from Moulton
"Wonder Woman satisfies the subconscious, elaborately disguised desire of males to be mastered by a woman who loves them."
